THE PETRIFICATION OF THE  HUMAN SOUL

The petrification of the human soul is one of the recurring terms
in the works of art of the painter Elio Sonsini. Fully aware
that in our society we are increasingly moving towards the affirmation
of one's own individuality often to the detriment of others, the painter
wants to highlight how such personal abuse entails the loss by man of the
most important human values such as honesty, humility and compassion
for others in need. From here, in fact, the "petrification" of the person
arises. How can we regain our humanity and return to being just and
charitable, that is, a real person? Only by making an absolute recovery
of the principles dictated by love  for others, solidarity and mutual aid.

In the painting "The Metamorphosis of the Soldier" it is clear how
the soldier decides to abandon his weapons and military clothing and
make a transformation that from a war machine 10 brings
him back to his true human essence so that he can save children and
accompany them towards a better world free from wars.
The message addressed to the new generations is evident in the
painting so that they reflect on the need to recover the high values for
which man was created; which would create a better life for all.

Also in the painting "The Bullfight" it is the bull who shatters the
bullfighter who has become petrified and has become such because of
all the torture inflicted on the animal to ensure the success of the show
purely aimed at entertainment. The bull takes his revenge on the cruelty
of man by shattering him. Once again, the painter's intent is to call attention
and reflection to prevent the human soul from becoming "stone" and
no longer being able to aspire to eternal salvation.
